The family of the late actress is certainly thanking her for being a friend, because Arthur’s Brentwood estate just sold for a golden price.

Originally built in 1924, the Spanish-style mansion once owned by Golden Girls star Bea Arthur is tucked among stunning oak and sycamore trees in a highly sought-after area of Brentwood, Los Angeles. Spanning 7,000 square feet, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom estate was originally designed by renowned architect Cliff May and later sold for an impressive $14.925 million.

The home boasts a spacious living room with exposed beamed ceilings and an elegant formal dining room. The master suite includes a luxurious bathroom and a walk-in closet, while four additional bedrooms each come with their own private suite—perfect for hosting guests (or perhaps Rose, Sophia, and Blanche!). A media room provides an ideal space for cozy family movie nights, while the gourmet kitchen opens to breathtaking grounds featuring a resort-style pool, spa, tennis court, manicured hiking trails, and cascading waterfalls.

With panoramic views of the Los Angeles canyons, mountains, and palm trees, the estate offers the ultimate Hollywood retreat. Arthur, best known for her iconic portrayal of the sharp-witted Dorothy Zbornak, lived in the home after purchasing it in 1980 for a then-modest $550,500.

She remained there until her passing in 2009 at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy as one of television’s most beloved actresses.
