The caption also highlighted the overwhelming success of the #BettyWhiteChallenge, a campaign that raised funds for animal charities in honor of her birthday. “The response has been absolutely amazing. Betty could never have imagined such an outpouring of love and would have been so grateful to everyone,” the message read.

Always thoughtful of her fans, the Golden Girls star wanted her birthday to be a celebration for everyone. “When we recorded her special message to fans attending the Betty White: A Celebration movie, she also recorded one to share on social media. She wanted to use the occasion of her 100th birthday to celebrate YOU — her fans. She always felt the love and never took it for granted,” the post explained.

A Life Cherished by All

Betty White passed away in December 2021 at the age of 99. “Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,” her agent, Jeff Witjas, said in a statement. “I will miss her terribly, as will the animal world she loved so dearly. Betty always believed she would reunite with her beloved husband, Allen Ludden.”

White’s death certificate revealed she suffered a cerebrovascular accident, commonly known as a stroke, days before her passing.

In keeping with her wishes, her funeral arrangements were handled privately. “She never wanted people to make a fuss over her,” Witjas shared, reflecting her humble and gracious spirit.

Betty White’s legacy of laughter, love, and dedication to causes she cherished will continue to inspire her fans around the world.
